About Pi Tau Omega Chapter

Thank you for visiting the official web site of Pi Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. We are delighted that you have taken some time to visit and hope that you come back often.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is the oldest Greek-letter organization established in America by Black college women. It was founded in 1908 at Howard University in Washington, DC.  More information about our sorority may be found at the official AKA Corporate website at www.aka1908.com.

The primary focus of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., is Service to All Mankind.  To accomplish this objective PTO implements the service programs developed by our corporate office.  A description of these programs may be found on our Programs page.

PTO has a very active and thriving AKA Teen group which currently consists of nearly 50 young women from the ninth thru the twelfth grades.  These young women also participate in community service projects as well as seminars and programs to assist them with their personal growth and academic development.

On June 30, 1999,  Pi Tau Omega Chapter established the Pearls of Service Foundation.  The purpose of the Foundation is to provide support to selected communities and organizations that foster programs for women and minorities in the areas of education; health; family development and stability; the arts; economic development; and leadership development.

Pi Tau Omega chapter meets at 6:30 p.m. on  the second Thursday of each month (except July and August) at:

Hope United Methodist Church
26275 Northwestern Highway
Southfield, MI 48076-3926
